The College of Computer Science and Mathematics is holding a scientific workshop on the basic concepts of human rights in university education.

Under the patronage of the President of the University of Mosul, Professor Dr. Waheed Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi, and under the supervision of Professor Dr. Duha Bashir Abdullah Al-Bazzaz, Dean of the College of Computer Science and Mathematics, the College, in cooperation with the High Commission for Human Rights, held a scientific workshop entitled:
“Basic Concepts of Human Rights and Their Role in University Education.” The workshop took place on Sunday, February 22, 2026, in the College Dean’s Hall.
The workshop was presented by Dr. Nagham Luqman Mohammed, Director of the Training Division at the High Commission for Human Rights in Nineveh. The workshop addressed the consolidation of fundamental human rights concepts and their legal and ethical dimensions within the university environment, emphasizing the importance of raising awareness among faculty and students about their role in respecting and implementing these rights on campus.
The workshop also focused on linking human rights principles to academic conduct and institutional practices, in accordance with national legislation and international standards, and contributing to building a university culture based on justice, equality, tolerance, and social responsibility.
