Conducting a continuing education course titled: “Practical Applications of the QM Program in Operations Research and Decision Support in Government Departments.”

Under the patronage and supervision of the Dean of the College of Computer Science and Mathematics, Prof. Dr. Duha Bashir Abdullah Al-Bazzaz, the College organized a course titled “Practical Applications of the QM Program in Operations Research and Decision Support within Government Agencies,” as part of the Continuing Education program for the 2026–2027 academic year.
The course was conducted by Asst. Prof. Dr. Niam Abdul-Moneim Abdul-Majeed Al-Thanoon.
The course aimed to provide a comprehensive, applied framework for using the “QM for Windows” software as a decision-support tool within government agencies and institutions. It combined the theoretical foundations of operations research with direct, practical application using the software.
Course Objectives:
Enhancing the effectiveness and transparency of government institutions by adopting scientific tools for decision support.

Optimizing the use of public resources (financial and human) to maximize their utility and minimize waste. (Goal 12 and Goal 8)
Improving the scheduling and monitoring of infrastructure and public service projects using project management methods (CPM/PERT). (Goal 9 – Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure)
Enhancing the efficiency of public service delivery and reducing citizen wait times through queuing and inventory models. (Goal 11 and Goal 3)
Supporting resource allocation decisions across regions and demographic groups based on objective criteria that promote equitable access to services. (Goal 10 – Reduced Inequalities)
Building the capacity of government personnel in the use of modern quantitative analysis tools to support digital transformation and institutional innovation. (Goal 4 – Quality Education and Goal 9 – Innovation)
Supporting negotiation and coordination among various government entities through decision analysis models and game theory. (Goal 17 – Partnerships for the Goals)
