Diploma Research by ” Youssef Salah Youssef ” Department of Computer Science

Discussion of the Diploma Research in the College of Computer Science and Mathematics-Department of (Computer Science) entitled (Academic Planning Platform for Sustainable Development in Higher Education) supervised by Dr. Nagham Ajeel Sultan

The research addressed the design and implementation of a hybrid web platform based on a PHP/XAMPP environment and a MySQL relational database, combined with an analytical layer implemented in Python using the Flask framework. The goal is to unify the collection of academic data and sustainability indicators from departments and transform them into statistical outputs and visual dashboards that support the work of the Studies and Planning Division in the college.

The study described the proposed three-tier architecture, the mechanism for entering departmental data through web-based forms, and its integration into a unified database, followed by analysis using Python statistical libraries to generate reports on the number of admitted and graduated students, student–staff ratios, and indicators such as paper and energy consumption and the extent of digital services adoption within the college.

The research aimed to build an academic planning system that reduces reliance on scattered Excel files, facilitates the preparation of university statistics, annual reports, and sustainability reports, improves data accuracy and consistency, and provides analytical tools that support decision-makers in resource allocation, enhancing the efficient use of energy and paper, and expanding electronic services in higher education.
