College of Science Council Holds Its Fourteenth Session to Review Academic and Administrative Affairs and Advance Development Requirements

The College of Science Council held its fourteenth session under the chairmanship of the Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Hiyam Adel Ibrahim, and in the presence of the esteemed Council members. The meeting addressed a number of academic, administrative, and educational issues listed on the agenda, with the aim of enhancing the university environment and supporting the continued development of the College.
The session included a review of the progress of postgraduate examinations, with an emphasis on providing the appropriate conditions to ensure their successful conduct. The Council also discussed preparations for undergraduate examinations, including the readiness of examination halls and the provision of all necessary requirements and resources.
In addition, the Council discussed updating the Editorial Board of Rafidain Journal of Science in accordance with the directives of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research regarding the establishment and development of Iraqi scientific journals. These updates are intended to further strengthen the journal’s academic standing and scientific credibility.
The Council also addressed the summer training requirements for students and explored mechanisms for organizing training programs in a manner that maximizes both scientific and practical benefits, while contributing to the development of students’ applied skills.
In another agenda item, the Council hosted several members of the Industrial Advisory Board of the College of Science. Discussions focused on the possibility of updating and developing academic curricula to align with labor market demands and the needs of various sectors, thereby enhancing graduates’ prospects and readiness for future employment opportunities.
At the conclusion of the session, the Council Presidency emphasized the importance of continuing to work in a spirit of teamwork and cooperation, while supporting developmental plans that contribute to improving the quality of academic and administrative performance within the College.
