Master’s thesis by  Omar Bashar Al-Husseini

Discussion of the master’s thesis in the College of Computer Science and Mathematics -Department of Software Department entitled:

Developing A Business Process Modeling Tool

Master’s thesis by  Omar Bashar Al-Husseini

supervised by  Dr. Nada Neamet Saleem

The thesis addressed the process of analyzing and constructing database systems correctly and comprehensively through the design and development of a proposed tool (Conceptual and Logical Model Tool – CLM) for automated data modeling. This is based on analyzing business requirements and textual information and modeling them at two levels:

The conceptual level, by building the conceptual model and representing it with graphical diagrams to facilitate communication with the client and produce a correct model that meets their requirements, serving as a means of communication between the client and the development team. The logical level, by building the logical model that defines the rules of integrated database systems, making it easier for developers to construct database systems in accordance with international standards in a correct and complete manner.

The thesis also discussed the use of Natural Language Processing (NLP) to extract information and components of the conceptual model and represent them graphically, as it helps interpret texts and reduce ambiguity, thereby enhancing analysis accuracy and reducing design and modeling errors.

The discussion committee consists of

Dr. Shahba Ibrahim Khalil (Chairman)
