An awareness lecture entitled “Breast Cancer Awareness Lecture” in cooperation with the Women’s Affairs Unit

Under the patronage and supervision of the Dean of the College of Computer Science and Mathematics, Professor Duha Bashir Abdullah, and as part of the college’s series of scientific activities, the college, in cooperation with the Women’s Affairs Unit at the University Presidency, is holding an awareness lecture entitled “Breast Cancer Awareness Lecture” on Wednesday, October 15, 2025.

Key points covered in the lecture:

Main risk factors: aging, heredity (BRCA genes), and hormonal history.

Common symptoms: a new lump or change in breast size/shape, or skin changes (redness, dimpling, or wrinkling).

Early detection is key to survival: This is primarily achieved through regular mammograms.

Treatment varies: including surgery, radiation therapy, chemotherapy, or hormonal therapy, depending on the type and stage of the tumor.

Prevention and awareness: The importance of regular screening and a healthy lifestyle.
