Holding the scientific workshop entitled “Cybersecurity and Society: Towards a Safe and Aware Environment”

Under the patronage and supervision of the Dean of the College of Computer Science and Mathematics, Professor Dr. Duha Bashir Abdullah, and as part of the college’s series of scientific activities, the College of Computer Science and Mathematics held a workshop entitled “Cybersecurity and Society: Towards a Safe and Aware Environment” on Monday, October 27, 2025.
Workshop Objectives:
1. To raise community awareness of the importance of cybersecurity and its role in protecting individuals and institutions from digital risks.
2. To introduce participants to the basic concepts of cybersecurity, its fields, types, and the most prominent contemporary cyber threats.
3. To promote a culture of safe digital behavior among internet and social media users.
4. To clarify the role of civil society and government agencies in building a safe and collaborative digital environment.
5. To empower individuals with cybersecurity self-protection skills, such as password management, dealing with suspicious emails, and securing personal data.
6. To encourage cooperation between sectors (educational, governmental, and private) to strengthen the national cybersecurity system. 7. Highlighting the importance of continuous education and training in cybersecurity to keep pace with technological advancements.
8. Encouraging research and innovation in security solutions and modern preventative technologies.
