College of Computer Science and Mathematics

Under the patronage of the President of the University of Mosul, Professor Dr. Waheed Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Computer Science and Mathematics, Professor Dr. Duha Bashir Abdullah Al-Bazzaz, the University Psychological Counseling Unit at the College, in cooperation with the Nineveh Security Directorate, organized an awareness-raising seminar entitled: “Drugs: Causes and Treatment.” The seminar was presented by an officer from the National Security Service/Nineveh Security Directorate.

The seminar addressed the most prominent causes of drug use and the factors leading to addiction. It also reviewed the types of drugs prevalent and their health and social dangers, as well as explaining the negative effects this scourge has on the individual, the family, and society. The lecture included an explanation of addiction treatment methods, prevention strategies, and early awareness campaigns, as well as the role of educational institutions in protecting youth and enhancing their ability to confront risky behaviors.

This seminar aimed to raise awareness among students and highlight the psychological and behavioral aspects associated with drug use, thereby contributing to building a healthy university environment and promoting a culture of social responsibility in confronting this serious challenge.
