Discussion of a Master’s Thesis at the College of Computer Science and Mathematics – Department of Computer Science entitled:
“A Defense Model For Web Application Firewall Based On Artificial Intelligence”
the Master’s thesis of the student “Aya Amer Zaki” was discussed in the discussion hall at the College of Computer Science and Mathematics, University of Mosul, on Tuesday, 9/12/2025, under the supervision of Assistant Professor Dr. Saja Jasim Muhammad.
The thesis addressed the topic of building and operating a web application firewall based on artificial intelligence.

The study addressed an integrated methodology that includes training machine learning models after data processing, then using these models within a (Reverse Proxy) application to protect a web application by inspecting user requests and either forwarding them to the target server or blocking them.

The study primarily aims to create an additional intelligent and scalable protection layer in front of the targeted web application, relying on artificial intelligence capabilities to detect threats proactively and effectively before they reach the server in real time.
