Holding the scientific workshop entitled: Children’s Rights Between Legislation and Reality

Under the patronage of the President of the University of Mosul, Professor Dr. Waheed Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Computer Science and Mathematics, Professor Dr. Duha Bashir Abdullah Al-Bazzaz,
The College’s Human Rights Unit, in cooperation with the Human Rights Department at the University of Mosul Presidency, held a scientific workshop entitled: “Children’s Rights: Between Legislation and Reality” on Sunday, March 29, 2026.
The workshop aimed to introduce children’s rights as stipulated in international laws and conventions and national legislation, and to highlight the gap between what is stipulated in the laws and what is actually implemented. It also sought to raise awareness among students and the community about the importance of protecting children and guaranteeing their fundamental rights. Furthermore, it addressed the challenges that hinder the implementation of these rights and proposed practical ways to support and promote them in society.
