Discussion of the Diploma Research in the College of Computer Science and Mathematics -Department of (  Computer Science    ) entitled: “Wildfire Detection Using Machine Learning”

supervised by  Dr.  Tarfa Yaseen Hamed

The thesis addressed the problem of Wild fires and the damage they cause to the environment and the pollution that harms human beings, which requires the human to find solutions to this problem before the fire spreads and to report the occurrence of the fire in its early stages.

The study addressed employing the computer methods in the early detection of fire through images, relying on artificial intelligence and machine learning models to detect fire by training the models on thousands of images containing fires and those that do not contain fires. The models that were built were tested and gave good results.

The study aims to achieve some of the sustainability goals such as climate action and life on land through early detection of fires, which contributes to reducing carbon emissions that harm humans and the environment.
