College of Agriculture and Forestry

Within the constructive cooperation between the College of Agriculture and Forestry and the Planting Protection Department of the Ministry of Agriculture, the Plant Protection Department and the Bee Department in the Nineveh Agriculture Directorate held a workshop on the diagnosis of Nosema and the inoculation of queens.The workshop was attended by Dr. Muhammad Yunus Al-Allaf (Dean of the College), Professor Hashem Al-Zuhairi (Director of the Department of Bees and Beneficial Insects), Dr. Duraid Hikmat Tobiya (Director of Nineveh Agriculture), and Dr. Juhaina Idris (Head of the Plant Protection Department in our college). The workshop was also attended by a large group of employees of our college, the Nineveh Agriculture Department, and beekeepers in the governorate.The course curriculum included giving theoretical and practical lectures given by Dr. Hamid Hammoud Ali (a lecturer in the plant protection department in our college) and Professor Abbas Naji Hussein (an engineer in the Plant Protection Department of the Ministry of Agriculture). The workshop also included carrying out some practical applications to identify the type of injury and its severity, as well as answering some questions from the attendees of the workshop’s lecturers.
